Ex-Federal Way Star Greenwood Signs With Seattle Pacific Soccer

Former Federal Way High School basketball and soccer star Ricci Greenwood has signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Seattle Pacific University, Coach Cliff McCrath announced yesterday.

Greenwood, who graduated from Federal Way High in 1991, led the Eagles to the Class AAA state soccer quarterfinals in 1991. As a senior, he scored 23 goals and was named both all-state and all-South Puget Sound League all-star. He was also an all-conference guard in basketball.

Greenwood has been attending classes at Highline Community College this year, but has preserved his four years of college eligibility.

Greenwood currently plays for the state under-19 champion FC Heat, which plays in the Western regional tournament June 17 in Denver. Last year, Greenwood helped lead Aviation West to the state U-19 title.

Seattle Pacific, an NCAA Division II quarterfinailist last fall, has recruited three high-school seniors for next season. Earlier this week the Falcons signed Nate Daligcon of Highline and Todd Stauber of Oak Harbor.
