TOP RETURNEES - GK Jon Yourkoski, sr.; MF Casey Rein, sr.; F/MF Juan Horan, sr.; MF Sean Dowling, sr.; D Mike Dowling, sr.
TOP NEWCOMERS - F Mark Jensen, jr.; MF Ryan Watts, so.; D Vince Hebrant, jr.
OUTLOOK - Yourkoski, a first-team all-leaguer as a sophomore and second-team pick last year, might be KingCo's top goalkeeper. Will help keep otherwise undermanned team in games. If early-season teamwork, resulting in 2-1 start, keeps up, Saints will make playoffs.
ISSAQUAH
COACH - Mike Bartley, first year.
1991 RECORD - 0-10, last in league; 1-11-1 overall.
TOP RETURNEES - D Tim Menibusen, sr.; MF Shane Milbourne, jr.; D Andrew Lundberg, sr.; D Chris Hedges, sr.; MF Danny Tyrrel, sr.; MF Ben Pattin, sr.; MF Justin Guptil, sr.; F Jeremy Dion, sr.; F Jeremy Moisier, so.
TOP NEWCOMERS - MF Tony Harris, jr.; F Donnie Moncrief, so.; F Geoff Livemoor, jr.; GK Colby Anderson, jr.
OUTLOOK - Issaquah will improve but not enough to get into playoffs. First-year coach takes on multi-year rebuilding task in tough league.

TOP NEWCOMERS - D Dan Burwell, sr.; MF Rodrigo Bainotti, sr.; F Flavio Bainotti, fr.; D Chad Searles, sr.
OUTLOOK - Eight returning letterman and midfield strength make Juanita a playoff contender despite 0-2 start in league. Chang was honorable mention defender as a junior.
LAKE WASHINGTON
COACH - Fred Mabbott, 15th year.
1991 RECORD - 4-6-1 (9 points), seventh in league; 7-6-2 overall.
TOP RETURNEES - GK Matt Poort, sr.; D Cody Hershey, sr.; F Francisco Pena, sr.; MF Zach Jason, jr.; MF Matt Knowlton, jr.; F Garrick Hubman, jr.; MF Ian Maycock, sr.

OUTLOOK - Hershey (second-team all-leaguer as a sophomore), Pena, Jason and Knowlton were all-KingCo honorable mentions last season. Experience and strong start in league (2-0, including 3-1 victory over Woodinville) have Kangaroos looking like playoff team.
MERCER ISLAND
COACH - Frank Ceteznik, first year.
1991 RECORD - 3-8 (6 points), tied for ninth in league; 4-10 overall.
TOP RETURNEES - D Matt Penna, sr.; MF Jeff White, sr.; GK Jay Rohter, sr.; MF Sam Jaddi, sr.; MF/F Mark Harrington, sr.
TOP NEWCOMERS - MF/F Peter Wennerstein, sr.; D Scott Harrington, jr.; D Mike O'Brien, sr.
OUTLOOK - Only two starters - and five varsity players overall - return for Islanders.
NEWPORT
COACH - Paul Mendes, 11th year.
1991 RECORD - 9-0-2 (20 points), first in KingCo; 15-3-2 overall, swept through KingCo tournament and advanced to Class AAA state semifinals. Finished fourth in state.
TOP RETURNEES - MF Ken Tsai, sr.; MF/F Matt Berry, sr.; GK Andrew Gilligan, sr.; D Merlino Cruz, sr.
TOP NEWCOMERS - F Todd Gibson, sr.; D Brad Schultz, sr.
OUTLOOK - Newport lost all but two starters (Tsai and Berry) from state semifinalist. Knights unlikely to win fourth straight KingCo title but should still be strong enough to contend for one of three state berths.
REDMOND
COACH - Mike Washington, second year.
1991 RECORD - 9-1-1 (19 points), second in league; 13-3-3 overall, lost in first round of state tournament.
TOP RETURNEES - MF Scott Jenkins, sr.; D Joe Gradilla, jr.; F Jesse Neville, sr.
TOP NEWCOMERS - MF Greg Shafer, fr.; MF Mark Flanders, fr.; MF Chad Mueller, fr.; F Rob Swift, sr.
OUTLOOK - Heavy graduation losses and tranfer of second-team all-KingCo defender Tim Boehm to Sammamish hurt Mustangs, who put together program's best season last year. But Gradilla and Jenkins were also second-team all-league picks. Expect Redmond - already 2-0 in league, 5-0 overall - to remain strong enough for another playoff run.
SAMMAMISH
COACH: Michael Smith, sixth year.
1991 RECORD: 7-2-2 (16 points), fourth in league; 9-4-3 overall, split two KingCo playoff games.
TOP RETURNEES: F Yoon Park, sr.; F Shawn Kerr, sr.; D Matt Coggan, sr.; MF John Andonian, sr.; GK Tony Beach, sr.; D Sean Dixey, sr.; MF Hai Le, so.; F Brian Mill, sr.; F Reza Nabaie, sr.; MF John Scholbe, sr.; MF Sammeer Shamsuddin, sr.
TOP NEWCOMERS: MF/D Tim Boehm, sr.; MF Carlos Garzon, so.; MF John Jensen, sr.; D Rick Hoadley, sr.; F David Hoadley, sr.; D Jaime Pocasangre, jr.; GK Jon Sack, sr.
OUTLOOK: The Totems return nine starters, including a first-team all-KingCo pick (Park), two second-teamers (Kerr, Coggan) and five honorable mentions (Andonian, Beach, Dixey, Le and Mill). Boehm, a transfer from Redmond, was a second-team all-KingCo defender. The last team to win the KingCo title before Newport's three straight should be the next one to win it.
WOODINVILLE
COACH - Sully Hester, 9th year.
1991 RECORD - 7-4 (14 points), fifth in league; 8-6-1 overall, lost to Sammamish in first round of KingCo tournament.
TOP RETURNEES - D Justin Hodges, sr.; F Valentine Ibarra, sr.; MF Chris Goff, sr.; D Seth Piper, sr.; MF Marc Perry, sr.; F Scott Kertson, sr.; D Wayne Gordon, jr.
TOP NEWCOMERS - MF Mark Anderson, sr.; MF Tyler Cufley, sr.
OUTLOOK: Falcons have first-team all-KingCo returning players anchoring front line (Ibarra) and back line (Hodges). One of the most talented teams in KingCo - full of premier-team players - would be league favorite with more playing time on same team under same style. Strong contender for state berth.
