`Sally Forth' Fans Win: Strip Will Return To Old Look
The readers have spoken and "Sally Forth's" creator has reacted. Beginning Dec. 2, the comic strip will return to its former style.
Greg Howard, who has written and drawn the comic for 10 years, hired Minneapolis Star Tribune editorial cartoonist Craig MacIntosh to take over the artwork. MacIntosh's version began running Nov. 11.
Negative reaction was swift. Seattle Times readers phoned and wrote in droves, all decrying the new look. The Star Tribune itself got more than 200 calls.
Last week, Howard told The Times that he and MacIntosh would "tinker with it until we get it right." That tinkering now comes in the form of a promise that MacIntosh will make "Sally Forth" look just like it did when Howard drew it.
