Auburn Teen Dies When Vehicle Rolls
AUBURN
An Auburn teenager was killed early yesterday when a vehicle crowded with seven passengers overturned.
The King County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Jeremy Cheshire, 14. Police said he and another passenger were standing in the Suzuki Sidekick, looking out the open sunroof, when the vehicle struck an embankment.
Cheshire was thrown partly out of the vehicle and crushed as it rolled over, police said.
The driver and five other passengers ran away after the accident, but police found them about a mile from the scene.
The driver was booked in the King County Jail for investigation of hit-and-run and vehicular-homicide charges, police said.
