Edmonds Man Killed, 3 Hurt In Car Crash

LYNNWOOD

An Edmonds man was killed and three passengers injured in a car accident on Beverly Park Edmonds Road this morning.

Michael Brown, 18, died when the Volkswagen Rabbit he was driving hit a curb about a mile north of Lynnwood about 3:30 a.m., the State Patrol reported. The car struck a ditch, rotated to the right and rolled over three times, ejecting one passenger.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene.

Passenger Wes Cheney, 17, of Lynnwood was in stable condition at Stevens Memorial Hospital in Edmonds this morning with head and chest injuries.

Passengers Jim Nelson, 18, of Lynnwood, and Gary McCallum, 16, of Edmonds, were treated at Stevens and released.

Nelson had head and chest injuries and McCallum was injured on his right side and left shoulder.

The accident is still under investigation.
