British Actor Wilfrid Hyde-White, Played Pickering In `My Fair Lady'

LOS ANGELES - Silver-haired British actor Wilfrid Hyde-White, whose roles included Pickering in the 1964 movie "My Fair Lady," died yesterday of congestive heart failure at age 87.

Mr. Hyde-White was known for his dry aristocratic manner during a 66-year career that included roles in plays, films and on television.

Mr. Hyde-White first appeared on the London stage in 1925 as a juror in "Beggar on Horseback." He also appeared in such plays as "Rise Above It" and "Caesar and Cleopatra." His films include "Gaily, Gaily" and "Rembrandt."

His TV credits include a brief run as Martin Peyton on "Peyton Place" during the 1960s and a top role in "The Associates."
