Maple Valley Precinct Commander To Retire After 29 Years With County
The commander of the Maple Valley Precinct is retiring after 29 years with the King County police.
Maj. Terry Allman, 51, is to leave his post at the end of the month. Allman, who has been commander of the precinct for the past 18 months, has worked in nearly every department of the King County police. For several years before coming to Maple Valley, he was commander of the criminal-investigation unit, which oversaw several criminal divisions, including the Green River Task Force.
Allman's replacement will be Capt. Larry Mayes, who is in charge of special operations, including the marine unit and search and rescue, at the the Lake Youngs unit. Allman will introduce Mayes during an open house at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the Maple Valley precinct Southeast 231st Street and Highway 169.
