The NAACP has challenged license-renewal applications for six radio stations in Washington, saying they have poor minority-hiring records.

In challenges with the Federal Communications Commission, the civil-rights group contends the stations have violated FCC equal-employment-opportunity rules, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People said in a news release.

The stations include KWYZ-AM in Everett; KGY-AM in Olympia; and KEZX AM and FM, KVI-AM and KPLZ-FM, all in Seattle.
