Redmond Football Coach Resigns
Jim Sampson has resigned after nine seasons as football coach at Redmond High School.
The injury-plagued Mustangs had a 2-7 record this season. It is the first year since 1982 that Redmond has failed to contend for a KingCo Conference playoff position.
Redmond Athletic Director Dennis Rieger said Sampson wanted to to spend more time with his family. Sampson will remain on the faculty at Redmond and continue to be an assistant girls' basketball coach.
Sampson is the second KingCo football coach to resign this season. Dee Hawkes of Bothell announced his retirement earlier this
month.
