New Bus Schedules Effective Tomorrow

New timetables for Metro bus schedules are now available.

The new timetables, which can be picked up on Metro buses and at information kiosks throughout King County, reflect changes that go into effect tomorrow.

Major changes include the opening of Metro's new tunnel in downtown Seattle. Routes affected by its opening will be the 71, 72 and 73 serving northeast Seattle and routes 106 and 107 serving Renton and South Seattle.

The tunnel will be open Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. It will be closed on Sundays and holidays. When closed, all tunnel routes will operate on Third Avenue, making all posted stops.

Metro is also restoring service to the University District that was reduced during the summer because of lower enrollment at the University of Washington.

Also, disabled riders should check the timetables for any schedule adjustments on routes now providing wheelchair-accessible service.
