Victoria Extends Storm Losing Streak To Seven
VICTORIA, B.C. - Allen Evans' penalty-kick goal in the 35th minute gave the Victoria Vistas a 1-0 soccer victory over Seattle and extended the Storm's losing streak to a club-record seven games.
Last night's nonleague victory gave the Canadian Soccer League club (7-4-6) the inaugural Stena Lines Cup.
Since setting an APSL West season scoring record by scoring their 40th goal July 14, the Storm (11-12) have scored only two goals in six outings and have been shut out five times.
Seattle next plays the Vancouver 86ers Saturday in Burnaby, B.C. The two teams meet again next Wednesday at Memorial Stadium. The Storm play their final league game Aug. 11 at home against Colorado.
