Red Alert, Skinwise: Hot Sun In Sight For Bite, Seafair

Seattle is one huge sunburn waiting to happen.

Sunny skies and warm temperatures are expected to grace the area this weekend as throngs of people attend a multitude of outdoor events. The National Weather Service is predicting highs will edge into the mid-80s today and the low 90s tomorrow.

That's great news for the area's annual pigout, the Bite of Seattle, as well as Seafair attractions and a number of other events planned today and tomorrow.

The Bite, which features myriad restaurant samples, from chicken gyros to crawfish spiced Cajun-style, will open at 11 a.m. at the Seattle Center both today and tomorrow.

Seafair is kicking off its three-week run with a series of offerings - a fashion show, an inner-tube race, bicycle and milk-carton races, and district and city festivals.

Tomorrow at 11 a.m., the International District will hold its annual festival. Metro officially opens the International District bus-tunnel station to kick off the event.

It seems about the only thing you won't find in Seattle this weekend is one of its most famous commodities - rain.
