Conglomerate Buys United Truck Lines

United Truck Lines of Spokane and two other companies have been sold to an Australian transportation conglomerate, United's chief executive says.

The sale to TNT North America of Rosemont, Ill., a subsidiary of TNT Ltd. of Sydney, Australia, was completed this week. United President Tom Williams said TNT also bought his Wallace-Colville Motor Freight and Transit Service Co.

United has 15 freight terminals and serves Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, British Columbia and Alberta, he said.
