Seattle Symphony

will lease mansion

LAKE FOREST PARK

The Wurdemann Mansion will be this year's Seattle Symphony Designer Show House, the mansion's new owner said yesterday.

The symphony will lease the 76-year-old Georgian house from Aug. 13 to Nov. 2, said mansion co-owner Brian Taylor.

More than 20 area designers will furnish and decorate the four-bedroom mansion and the guest house behind it, he said.

Proceeds from tickets and entrance fees to view the mansion will benefit the symphony.

Before then, Taylor said, the entire property will be restored. Electrical connections, work on the fence, driveway, roof and guest house will be completed in the next few months, he said.

Located at the corner of Ballinger Way and Bothell Way Northeast, the mansion and 1.8 acre of land were purchased by Taylor and his associates last spring.
