TOKYO
The leading airlines of Japan and West Germany have entered the door-to-door package delivery service by taking a major stake in air courier DHL, Japan Airlines said today.
JAL, Deutsche Lufthansa and Nissho Iwai Corp. will take a total of 12.5 percent in each of two holding companies of DHL World Express, a JAL spokesman said.
DHL will use JAL and Lufthansa planes to ship packages.
