Northwest College Selects The Rev. Denny Davis As President

The Rev. Denny Davis has been named president of Northwest College of the Assemblies of God.

Davis, superintendent of the denomination's Oregon District, is the Kirkland college's fourth president and succeeds the Rev. D.V. Hurst, who is retiring after more than 24 years as head of the college.

Davis is a Northwest College alumnus, who graduated in 1956 with a bachelor's degree in theology. He has been president of the alumni association and has been on the college board of directors since 1982.

Davis has been superintendent of 200 Assemblies of God churches in Oregon since 1987. He was pastor of the People's Church in Salem for 20 years.

Northwest College has about 700 students and is the denomination's regional institution of higher education.

Davis will assume his duties as president July 16.
