Seattle Man Charged In Murder, Kidnapping
A Seattle man has been charged with murder and kidnapping in the death of Boise, Idaho, taxidermist Delbert Koll.
District Attorney David Gallaher charged Wilber Larry Myhre, 52, with murder, aggravated murder, felony murder and second-degree kidnapping.
Aggravated murder can carry the death penalty, while felony murder and murder would carry a maximum sentence of life in prison.
Myhre remained in the King County Jail in Seattle on an unrelated charge of boat theft. If he waives extradition, he could be transferred to Pendleton early next week to face arraignment, Gallaher said.
Koll, 76, was last seen Feb. 2 driving in an alley near his home with three unidentified passengers. His body, bearing knife wounds in the neck and lower back, was found March 9 in an irrigation ditch on the Umatilla Indian Reservation near Pendleton, about halfway between Boise and Seattle. He had been dead about a month.
Koll's car, with Myhre sleeping inside, was found a week ago in Seattle after authorities investigated a suspicious-vehicle report.
