Thurston Harris, 58, Hit Singer In 1950S

POMONA, Calif. - Thurston Harris, whose songs ``Over and Over'' and ``Little Bitty Pretty One'' were smash hits in the 1950s, died of a heart attack at a rest home Saturday. He was 58.

Harris achieved fame that quickly faded to obscurity, but he never gave up hope of a comeback, said relatives and his agent.

He was preparing to sue to obtain the rights to some of his recordings and had a contract for an October concert at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles, said Steve Brigati, Harris' manager and agent.

``He was singing `Over and Over' all evening long,'' in preparation for the concert, said Rosemary Mingo, a resident at Cook's Care Facility.

Harris never got any royalties for his songs, said his daughter, Jewel Rene Harris.
