Foremost Seeks Site For Processing Plant
SEATTLE
Foremost Dairies Northwest, which recently took over the former Carnation Dairy plant at University Village, has begun a region-wide search for a site for a new state-of-the-art daily processing plant.
Frank Lewis, senior vice president of operations, said the plant would be the first new dairy facility to be built in the region in nearly 30 years.
The $30 million plant would be equipped to process, package and distribute milk, yogurt, ice cream, bottled water and fresh juices. The company wants to have it operational by 1992.
