Tishman West To Manage Columbia Seafirst Center

Seafirst Bank yesterday named Tishman West Cos. to succeed Martin Selig as the exclusive management and leasing agent for the 76-story Columbia Seafirst Center.

Joan Enticknap, senior vice president and facilities manager for Seafirst, said the Los Angeles-based company was chosen to manage the 1.4 million-square-foot building because of its proven leadership in building management.

``Their hands-on approach to property management and their tenacity in ensuring the best tenant relations were deciding factors,'' said Enticknap.

Tishman West, which maintains a regional office in Seattle, will work with Selig until his temporary contract expires March 15.

Seafirst purchased the city's tallest office building from Selig for $350 million in December. Although Seafirst officials said Selig had expressed interest in continuing as manager and would be considered, Selig later told Seafirst he did not want the job.

Tishman West has appointed Matthew Sato as marketing manager of Columbia Seafirst Center.

Sato is currently responsible for the leasing and marketing of the 1.3 million-square-foot 1900/1901 Avenue of the Stars project in Century City.

Prior to joining Tishman West, Sato had leasing responsibilities for the Skyline Tower in Bellevue.

Tishman West manages 25 million square feet of office space around the country and is engaged in development, leasing, consulting, management and construction of commercial and retail property.
